Wednesday Wants - Kimberly

Hello! Julie and I have been wanting to do a post like this and so here it is! What we are going to do is post some things we want... on Wednesdays! We will post needs every now and then put these are justs some wants. (shout out to economics last semester because government sucks)

First things that I would want are these two beautiful MAC lipsticks. These two are both matte and $15 each, sadly. Taupe sort of looks like a nude/ natural color and Instigator is this gorgeous dark red/maroon color. Revlon's Color Suede in Backstage is a really similar color to this. I actually have the Revlon one but I'm running out so I'd like to try this MAC one.
And here is some cute band merch that I want. I don't know but I feel like pop punk bands have cuter/better merch than others bands LOL is that weird? But Man Overboard HAS BEANIES OMG. Who doesn't love beanies? This beanie is just perfect because

  1. it's a beanie
  2. it is a cute color
  3. and it's MAN OVERBOARD
The only thing that I'm on the fritz about is the New Jersey state logo thingy. Don't get me wrong, Jersey is cool but... I'm from California and I sort of think that it is the best state haha. DON'T KILL ME. The Story So Far should have a beanie with the state of California on it... just saying.

Any-who I've also been wanting this Citizen shirt for like freaking ever. It's just so simple and cute and I love Citizen.

And the last thing I want are some tickets to The Wonder Years North America tour because the lineup is freaking amazing. I really really really really really want to see Real Friends, Citizen, and Modern Baseball!! I really want to go and the show closest to where I live is on a weekend! I want to go so bad but something that these bands should take in mind (or their agents) is that they should play in Pomona. Pomona has two concert venues (that I know of) that are close to my house. (15-20 minute drive I think) No disrespect on West Hollywood or LA but it's sort of freaking scary there!! And Pomona is closer to my city so yeah.

Well this is it for my Wednesday Wants. What do you guys want? And if you're going to so see The Wonder Years then don't tell me because I will be extremely jealous.

Christmas 2013

Hello everyone. It was decided that Julie and I were going to take pictures on Christmas for our blog. I apologize for our lack of commitment on this blog although both of us are busy with school and other affairs.

Any-who, I should probably mention what I bought on Cyber Monday even though I am approximately 4 weeks behind. I purchased the floral collared shirt which you could see above from American Apparel. The shirt ties in the front which I am not very fond of (due to many ratchet girls at my school) but it's freaking cute so whatever. I also bought a pair of Easy Jeans from American Apparel which I am very satisfied with. Then I went over to Amazon and bought the Fujifilm Instax Mini 8. In pink! It's super cute but it doesn't come with film... so I bought some. It takes super cute and vintage looking pictures but mind you, the actual size of the picture is quite small.

Cardigan - Brandy Melville - Caroline Knit
Shirt - American Apparel - Rayon Mid-Length Tie-Up Violet Floral
Jeans - American Apparel - Easy Jean Medium-Wash Stone Indigo
Bag - American Apparel
Oxfords - Aldo

I apologize for looking like a fat and stoned druggie. I wasn't prepared to take pictures, but knowing Julie, I should have known better. Shout out to her new camera that I think she got for Cyber Monday. Sorry that this post doesn't pertain to the actual title but I got money for Christmas... And I'm pretty sure I'm going to spend it all on useless crap. *face palm*

If you like this blog and love seeing Julie's face then I will make sure that posts will be more consistent. If you're reading this Julie then notice the italics that I've applied to the words will and more.

See you lovely readers soon. And be prepared for a very provocative post coming February.

Christmas 2013

Hey guys! Obviously it's been quite awhile since Kim and I posted, but after weeks and weeks of "we should do it this weekend", we FINALLY settled on a day to take pictures: Christmas!! This is also the first post I'm making with my newly cut hair, so I'm super psyched!! ^___^

Cream Chenille Cardigan~ H&M
Striped Crop (tank)~American Apparel
Leather Circle Skirt~ Forever 21
--
I wore this outfit to a Christmas party with friends and family, and obviously it's a lot of black and white but I think this choice of color is great at making even the most casual outfits seems a bit more formal. On top of that, I bought the cardigan during the Cyber Monday sale for 50% off, so when that day rolls around I definitely recommend checking it out! I also bought the crop tank from the AA Flea Market (so it was significantly cheaper), and if you guys happen to be in LA, it's worth a visit!

Leather heels - St. John's Bay
--
I know this isn't a clear picture of the shoes I'm wearing, but they are essentially leather heels (one inch heel) that cover your feet, but have open ankles. They're super comfortable and great to wear for any semi-formal/formal occasion!

See you guys soon; I hope everyone enjoys the holidays!

Different Outfit II

Hi guys! School's been really demanding lately, so I'm sorry for such a late update! :(. The pictures below this text are a little outdated in terms of [our appearance], but seeing as Ms. Mermaid posted them I thought I should as well to keep our posts parallel.

Anyway, so about two Mondays ago I had spent the night before curling my hair and I couldn't resist calling Mermaid up and asking her to take pictures with me for our blog. Note how I didn't immediately compliment my outfit....to be frankly honest I like my hair much more than my outfit in all of these pictures. I will admit it's a little generic nowadays but nevertheless it was still pleasant to have that preppy feeling once in a while. You can only be young for so long right?

The khaki bow in my hair is from (you guessed it) American Apparel. At $14 it was pretty expensive, but I absolutely love it! The neutral color matches with most outfits in my closet.

Anyway, so my outfit (as I mentioned before) is quite generic and simple. My denim backpack is from American Apparel, and I particularly love this backpack because it's so durable...I tend to ruin my backpack before the year ends and this one still looks great. I definitely recommend getting it! My crop top is from Wet Seal; got it for $4! Lately I've been obsessed with the color white and well, I couldn't resist. My skirt is actually five years old -I got it as a gift from my aunt (and yes, it was big back then and STILL is). I believe it's from Abercrombie and Fitch. My watch is from Kenneth Cole.

Thanks for reading today's post, and keep a look out for more! :)

Introduction: Mermaid

Hello there, my name is Kimberly and I am the other person on this fabulous blog. Aside from that I like to consider myself a very weird and a very witty person... and when I say witty I mean sarcastic. I'm sorry if this doesn't make any sense because I honestly don't know what to say about myself. As you could tell I don't write as eloquently as Julie does. My style of writing is pretty casual and laid back.... Oh dear lord.

Any-who, enough of that. Like I said above, I am a pretty weird person. I dress sort of different from most girls at school and I don't really care. My style varies from very girly to very edgy and I get compliments on my outfits, sometimes... I'm no social butterfly. I actually have a terrible fear of butterflies and I am always on social media networks such as Tumblr, Instagram, and Youtube. I also have very good taste in music but I don't think that this is important for you to know... Bleh.

Well I'll try to get my crap together right now. I'm Kimberly. I have a edgy yet girl style. I spend my free time indoors and online. I like to shop online. I like to go shopping, I need to stop though because it is getting unhealthy. I wish I was rich and skinny because life is tough when you're not. I'm insecure about myself but not my style. I like good music such as pop punk and metal. My favorite bands include Asking Alexandria, blink-182, Bring Me The Horizon, and Man Overboard.

I am really excited to be doing this blog with Julie. We both have great style and great senses of humor, although I am funnier. You will be seeing a lot of American Apparel and Brandy Melville because those are our obsessions.... We both live in CA but I don't like to say that I live in CA because I feel that it has become a label and people tend to overuse that label. Oh lord I'm such an idiot. Sorry.
You'll love this blog though and you'll love my style especially.

Introduction: Sea Salt [with a Soul]

Hi guys! My name is Julie, and I'm one of the millions of girls out here in Southern California looking for an outlet to keep my thoughts, dreams, and styles flowing comfortably in a conservative and mainstream society it's been suffocating in for quite some time. Little about me before a rough sketch of my life is laid out before you on this blog:

I always have my camera with me, I have a serious problem with shopping, especially for the most random items (not just clothes but maybe a spoon or a fork at Crate&Barrel), I love brewing tea, reading books for pleasure even if it's only a page a week, traveling, and greek yogurt (yes next to sea salt).
I also have this crazy obsession to keep everything around me aesthetically pleasing, which is great on my part because it keeps a rather disorganized girl like me somewhat clean. There's a bunch of other notable things about me that I can't exactly think of right now, because it's one of those moments where you formally know you have to explain yourself and you're kind of at a writer's block.

So you'll see more about me through this page.

Anyway, I'm super excited to collaborate with Kimberly on this; we both have roughly parallel tastes -more so than anyone else we know- and we both respectively lingered on making one for awhile and naturally felt it easier to make one between us. We're not rich, so we won't be posting something new we bought everyday or pictures of different states every week because we can't afford that many plane tickets, but we have a dream to make something of our own haven.

I hope you guys enjoy it! :).
